Frequently Asked Questions
Is moving the router to a better location possible?
Yes. While the fibre ONT usually remains in its original position, we can install data cabling to relocate your router to a more central location, significantly improving WiFi distribution throughout the property.
What is a wired access point?
A wired access point is a device connected directly to your router using Ethernet cabling. It creates a new WiFi signal in another area of your home without the signal loss associated with wireless repeaters.
Is professional WiFi installation better than DIY mesh kits?
Professional installation ensures correct positioning, wiring, and configuration for optimal long-term performance.
Is upgrading to full fibre the only solution for poor WiFi?
No. Many WiFi issues are internal network problems rather than broadband supply problems. Improving internal layout is often more effective.
Why do WiFi connections drop out intermittently?
Intermittent drops are usually caused by weak signal strength, interference, or poor router placement. Improving internal network layout resolves most of these issues.
Is wired backhaul important for mesh systems?
Yes. Mesh systems perform significantly better when connected using wired backhaul rather than wireless linking between nodes.

We have just moved into a house in St Neots but have issues with wifi reaching all areas. We have youfibre 1GB internet with 2 x mesh boosters. I also purchased some tp link powerlink wifi extenders and these have helped but not greatly.
Hi Luke, the only way to get 100% full wifi signal where you need it most is to have installed a hard wired access point from your main router, unfortunately we have no fibre engineers in this area at the moment, those extenders will work a little bit but there not great 100% wired is the way to go.
