Frequently Asked Questions
Is moving the router to a better location possible?
Yes. While the fibre ONT usually remains in its original position, we can install data cabling to relocate your router to a more central location, significantly improving WiFi distribution throughout the property.
What is wired backhaul and why is it important?
Wired backhaul connects access points using Ethernet instead of wireless links, delivering stronger and more reliable performance.
Do thick walls affect WiFi performance?
Yes. Solid brick, stone, and reinforced walls significantly reduce WiFi signal strength. Wired access points are often the best solution in these properties.
Can you help if I work from home?
Yes. We improve home office connectivity using wired access points or dedicated Ethernet runs for stable connections.
Can you improve WiFi in a loft conversion?
Yes. Installing a wired access point in the loft area significantly improves signal strength.
Why should I test my speed using a wired Ethernet connection?
Testing with a wired connection helps determine whether slow speeds are caused by broadband supply or internal WiFi distribution. If wired speeds are good but WiFi is slow, the issue is usually signal coverage.
