Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my WiFi drop when moving around the house?
This usually happens when the router signal is too weak to cover the entire property. Properly positioned wired access points resolve this.
Why should I test my speed using a wired Ethernet connection?
Testing with a wired connection helps determine whether slow speeds are caused by broadband supply or internal WiFi distribution. If wired speeds are good but WiFi is slow, the issue is usually signal coverage.
Why is my WiFi slow even though my broadband speed is good?
You can have fast broadband at the router but still experience slow WiFi in rooms far away or through thick walls. Installing wired access points or improving router positioning usually resolves this.
Can you install ceiling-mounted access points?
Yes. Ceiling-mounted access points provide excellent coverage and are commonly used for whole-home WiFi optimisation.
Is it worth installing access points in smaller homes?
Even in smaller homes, poor router placement can cause dead zones. A wired access point can provide full coverage.
Will installing access points increase my broadband speed?
Access points do not increase your broadband speed, but they improve signal distribution so you receive full speed throughout your home.
